Headshot/Model Session

Here are some images I photographed from a recent model/headshot session with local Pittsburgh actor, Winston.  He currently finished up with a local theatre production and has roles in several independent films being shot in Pittsburgh.  He was in a big need of modeling and headshot images for his portfolio and I feel we got a great variety of styles from our session.  Winston was really great to work with and I wish him the best of luck in his career.  You can view his profile and contact information at http://www.modelmayhem.com/1911191

Personal Shoot: Burglar Concept

I recently did a personal shoot. The original concept was sparked during a movie I was watching. There was a particular scene in this movie where the actress was standing in a dark living room and there were car lights outside that were coming in through the window and illuminating the woman with a hard shadow, contrast rich light. So I created a concept shot of a burglar lurking in a living room setting. I chose a similar style of lighting along with the addition of a second blue gel grid light to provide some edge detail in my subject as well as to cast some color onto the background walls. After I did the first shot I had originally planned for, I decided to have some fun and go for a mood that was a little more on the humor side showing a burglar taking a lunch break.

One On One With A Classical Guitarist

I recently had the opportunity to snap some shots of a local classical guitarist. Dan Rectenwald is a classical guitarist based here in Pittsburgh that teaches classical guitar as well as performs locally and nationally. He was looking for some shots to spice up his current website and was leaning towards portraits that had a fine art look and style. It was interesting to hear what Dan's routine of practice was in maintaining his high level of play as a musician. Dan had mentioned that he practices on average of 3-4 hours a day just to maintain his edge since he competes in regional and national competitions on a regular basis.
