A colleague and former teacher of mine, Richard Kelly, is teaching some upcoming photography workshops that will be occurring in late July and throughout August in Pittsburgh, PA. These workshops be focusing on Basic Digital Photography, Asset Management, Adobe Lightroom Techniques, a Photo Expedition and Portfolio Development. Richard Kelly is a Pittsburgh based editorial and corporate photographer. He is also an instructor at Pittsburgh Filmmakers and is the ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) National President.

Photo expedition
Spend an evening photographing an urban corner of Pittsburgh. Explore how changing light alters the textures and perspectives of a single location. Students should bring their own cameras and preferred equipment. Will have a chance to do landscapes, environmental shots or still life over two hours, using available light, with one-on-one instruction and consulting time.
This outing will be limited to 6 people. $35
This Expedition is subject to weather.

Portfolio and Photographic Project Development (Starting August 10) 3 sessions
This workshop series is for advanced photographers, students and professionals, creating and refining their personal and commercial projects or portfolios. This is a conversational and discussion class. Limited in size to ten participants. Portfolio review required. This group will meet every other week on Monday Evenings from 6-8 p.m. starting August 10, August 24 & August 31. $180 for 3 sessions.
Hands-on digital asset management
This laboratory course will help individuals organize their ‘digital shoebox’ of photographs. People will bring their own computers and software and learn how to store and organize them. This 3 hour session will include instruction on using Adobe Photoshop Lighroom and Expression Media. Including a light lunch.

Getting the Most out of your digital SLR camera
Basic course for getting over your fear about using your digital SLR camera. Will go over basic functions, have one-on-one time to review camera settings, and end the class going out to take photos and test drive with a professional on-hand. This 3-hour session will include practical and personal advice about your camera, as well as hands-on time taking photos with help making adjustments.
Limited to 6 people. $60/each

Adobe Lightroom Advanced
This laboratory course focusing on the advanced workflow of Adobe Lightroom. Students will bring their own computers and software. This is 3 hour session. Including a light lunch.
